Family Photography
Take the camera with you on days out
It is surprising how quickly even the most camera shy members of the family will get used to the camera being pointed at them, if you make it an everyday or every trip occurrence.
As family and friends learn to accept that you will have the camera with you when you all meet, they will grow ever more comfortable with the idea. This will lead to a more relaxed attitude and more natural photos.
The kids can have the camera as part of daily life, and learn to use a digital camera without the worry of wasted shots that used to come with the old film cameras. Make a record of their growing up, capturing the milestones of life like birthdays, their first bike or the joy of Christmas day. Having children so at ease with the camera helps to relax the adults too, how can they refuse when one of the kids says come on and have a picture taken with me.
Not only will you get the photographic memories of your family life, but you won’t get the annoying “Oh I look terrible don’t let anybody see it” comments either.
Of course, the only problem then, is that you get designated as the family photographer.
Oh well I guess someone has to do it.
